Center for Global Education
The Center for Student Exchange, which was established in May 1996, was enlarged and reorganized as the Center for Global Education in February 2010, expanding from 2 sections to 3 sections. The Center plays a key role in promoting the internationalization of Hitotsubashi University by providing Japanese language education, Japanese culture courses, academic advising for international students, and study aboard advising, as well as planning and running the HGP (Hitotsubashi University Global Education Program), which was launched as a new initiative in 2010. The number of inbound and outbound students has increased greatly in keeping with the university's focus on developing international exchange programs, and the Center itself will continue to strengthen and promote international student exchange in cooperation with other relevant bodies at Hitotsubashi University.
The Japanese Language Education Section provides Japanese language education to all international students at Hitotsubashi University, offering both intensive Japanese courses and Japanese courses as part of the general education program.
The International Student and Study Abroad Advising Office provides advice on academic affairs, living in Japan, relationships with friends, visa issues, working in Japan and so on. The Office also provides advice and counseling on studying abroad, and helps students with school selection, necessary procedures, and letters of reference. Short-term study abroad programs in Australia, China, and Spain are provided during the summer and winter vacations.
