【日本語科目の受講資格・受講方法】

一橋大学の日本語教育プログラムを受講したいのですが、どうしたら受講できますか？

まずは、一橋大学に正規留学生（学部正規生、大学院正規生）、交流学生（学部・大学院）、または外国人研究生）として入学してください。入試情報については、学部正規生は入試課 へ、大学院正規生は各研究科事務室 へお問い合わせ下さい。交流学生（学部・大学院）、外国人研究生の申請方法については、下記リンクをご参照下さい。上記の本学学生以外の受講は認められません。

なお、日本語プログラムは、春夏学期･秋冬学期（セメスター）単位での受講となります。学期の一部のみの履修は認められません。
大学院正規生および交流学生、外国人研究生が日本語教育プログラムの日本語科目を受講するためには、初めて日本語科目を受講する学期の開始前に日本語プレイスメントテストをオンラインで受験する必要があります。日本語プレイスメントテスト受験後は、当該テストで判定されたレベルに該当する日本語科目の抽選申込をしてください。

可能です。ただし、日本語プレイスメントテストを必ず受験して下さい。日本語プレイスメントテストの日程は、こちらのオリエンテーションスケジュールでご確認ください。

日本語プレイスメントテストはすべての留学生が受けなければなりませんか。受けない場合、どんな影響がありますか？

日本語プレイスメントテストの受験が必要かどうかは、『日本語科目履修までの手順』の①チャートで確認してください。この①チャートで「受験必要」の方が日本語プレイスメントテストを受けない場合、日本語科目の授業は１科目も受講できません。日本語科目を受講したい学生は、申し込みを忘れないようにしてください。

テストはどのように実施しますか？

オンラインで実施します。はじめに、『日本語科目履修までの手順』の①チャートを確認してください。次に、チャートで「受験必要」の人は、テスト申し込みフォームに受験の申請をしてください。テスト申し込みフォームのアクセスリンクは、大学からのメールに記載してあります。テストの前に、テストの受験方法のガイダンス資料が、申し込み時に登録したメールアドレスに送られます。必ず、テストの前にガイダンス資料を注意深く読んで、テストに臨んでください。「履修不可」、「受験不要」の人は、テスト申し込みフォームに受験の申請をする必要はありません。ただし、「受験不要」の人は、日本語科目のウェブ抽選を忘れないようにしてください。

プレイスメントテストの申し込み期限を過ぎてしまいました。申し込み期限の後も、受験できますか？

できません。また、『日本語科目履修までの手順』の①チャートで、「受験必要」である場合、日本語プレイスメントテストの申し込みや受験を忘れた人は、日本語科目が一切履修できません。この①チャートで、「受験不要」の人は、『日本語科目履修までの手順』の②③にしたがって、履修可能な科目を確認し、希望する日本語科目の抽選に参加してください。

何らかの技術的な問題で、テストが途中で終了してしまいました。もう一度テストが受験できますか？

できません。その場合は、受験前に送られたガイダンス資料にしたがい、指定された方法で別のテストの申し込みをしてください。

過去１年以内に一橋大学で日本語の判定結果をもらった留学生（『日本語科目履修までの手順』の①チャートで「受験不要」である人は受験しなくていいです。

約2時間です。漢字、語彙、文法、聴解の４つのセクションがあります。時間に余裕をもって受験してください。

合格したレベルの1つ上のレベルの日本語科目を履修してください。例えば、先学期、中上級の授業に合格したら、今学期は上級前の日本語科目が履修できます。一橋大学の日本語レベル一覧と、レベルごとに履修可能な日本語科目の表は、こちらを見てください。

Basic Japanese 1やBasic Japanese 2のように、週5コマ（月曜日から金曜日）開講となっている科目は、 必ず5コマ全て出席する必要がありますか？それとも、週数コマを選択して、出席することが可能ですか？

必ず開講コマ数全てに出席して下さい。週5コマ（月曜日から金曜日）開講する科目には、必ず5コマ出席が必要です。初級前（Beginner Low）レベルでは、週3コマ開講のIntroduction to Japanese Languageも開講しています。自身のスケジュールに合わせて選択してください。詳しくは、CELS にてシラバスをご確認ください。

正規大学院生（修士課程・博士課程）も、日本語科目を履修して合格したら、単位が取得できますか？

オンラインでも授業を実施していますか？千代田キャンパスの授業が多いのですが、千代田キャンパスから国立キャンパスまで移動時間を考えると、履修したい日本語科目の授業開始時間に間に合いません。

How can I take courses in Hitotsubashi University’s Japanese Language Education Program?

First, please enroll at Hitotsubashi University as a Degree-seeking undergraduate and graduate student, an exchange student (undergraduate and graduate students), or a research student. No other student status will be eligible for enrolling the Japanese course.
The Japanese language program is offered in a 14-week semester (spring/summer and fall/winter semesters). It is not possible to enroll in the program for only a part of a semester.
Degree-seeking graduate students, exchange students, and research students MUST take the Japanese Placement Test online before the start of the semester in which they will take Japanese language courses for the first time. After taking the Japanese Placement Test, students must apply for registration lottery for the Japanese language courses determined by the placement test.

Do all international students have to take the Japanese Placement Test? What are the impacts if I do not take it?

Please check whether you need to take the Japanese Placement Test at “Registration Steps”.If you are “Must take the Japanese Language Placement Test” at this chart, you must take the Japanese Language Placement Test. If not, you are not eligible to apply for the WEB lotteries of Japanese Language courses and you will not take any Japanese language courses. Do not forget to apply for the online test if you wish to Japanese language courses.

How will the Japanese Language Placement Test be conducted?

It will be conducted on-line. First, please check “Registration Steps”. If you are “Need to take the Japanese Language Placement Test” at this flowchart, you must apply for the test. The link to access the test application form is provided in the email from our university. And a manual on how to take the test will be sent to the email address you registered at the application form. Please read the manual carefully and take the test. If you are “Not required”, you do not need to take the Japanese Language Placement Test but do not miss the WEB lotteries.

I could not complete the Japanese Language Placement Test due to some technical problem. Can I take the test again?

No. But, please follow the guidance materials sent to you prior to taking the test and register for another test in the designated manner.

How long does the Japanese Language Placement Test?

It takes around 2 hours. There are 4 sections; Kanji, Vocabulary, vocabulary, grammar, and listening comprehension. Please take the test with plenty of time to spare.

Yes, start and end times are based on Japan time. Please be aware of the time difference and plan your exam accordingly.

Is this placement test for Japanese language courses? Or, is it for taking classes such as specialized courses conducted in Japanese?

This placement test is for the Japanese Language courses conducted by Hitotsubashi University Japanese Language Education Program.

I completed some of Japanese Language courses, last semester. Which level of Japanese language courses can I take for the next semester?

You may advance to the next level. For example, if you completed a Pre-Advanced level course, you can take an Advanced Low course. You can check for a list of Hitotsubashi University’s Japanese language levels and a table of Japanese language courses available at each level, please see here.

For courses such as Basic Japanese Ⅰ and Basic Japanese Ⅱ, which are offered five times a week (Monday through Friday), do I have to attend all five classes? Or is it possible to select a few classes per week and attend them?

Students are required to attend 5 classes per week (Monday through Friday). For Beginner Low level students, we also offer Introduction to Japanese Language, which meets for 3 periods per week. Please select the course that best fits your schedule. For details, please check the syllabus at CELS.

Unfortunately, we do not offer a summer school or any other courses during the summer break period.

Do you offer courses online?
I have to take many courses at the Chiyoda Campus, but considering the travel time from the Chiyoda Campus to the Kunitachi Campus, I can’t make it in time for the start time of the Japanese language courses I want to take.

Our courses of Japanese Language Program are conducted only face-to-face, not online. If you have to travel between campuses, please plan your courses so that you can arrive in time for the courses start time.
