Hitotsubashi University and the University of Edinburgh Business School signed a Student Exchange Agreement
In January 2026, Hitotsubashi University (HU) and the University of Edinburgh Business School in Scotland, the U.K. signed the Student Exchange Agreement to promote student exchange in the area of business and economics.
The University of Edinburgh (UoE), founded in 1583, is a national university located in Edinburgh, the Capital of Scotland. It is known as one of the seven “Ancient Universities” of the U.K., existing universities established during the Middle Ages and Renaissance, alongside institutions such as the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge. UoE is internationally recognized for excellence in education and research, and is regarded as one of the world’s leading universities worldwide.
The UoE Business School is a Triple Crown—accredited institution (EQUIS, AACSB, and AMBA) and is widely regarded as one of the leading business schools in the U.K. Leveraging its location in Edinburgh, a major financial center city of finance, along with its high-level and international education and research. The campus is now enhancing its globalization and diversify with international students from over 70 counties, and globally distinguished faculty members in each academic disciplines and faculty.
Through this agreement, HU and UoE Business School each agree to send undergraduate students to the other universities each year. Students from the Faculty of the Commerce and Management, and the Faculty of Economics, HU would have the opportunity to take courses taught in English at UoE Business School.
