Hitotsubashi University and Charles University, Faculty of Arts signed an Academic and Student Exchange Agreement

In September 2025, Hitotsubashi University (HU) and Charles University, Faculty of Arts (CUFA) in the Czech Republic signed the Academic and Student Exchange Agreement to foster academic cooperation and student exchange.

 

Charles University, established in 1348, is a public institution with a longstanding and distinguished history. In fact, it is widely recognized as the oldest university, not only in the Czech Republic but also in Central Europe. At present, it has 17 faculties, with each faculty situated on separate campuses throughout the city of Prague. CUFA has existed since the establishment of Charles University and is among the largest educational and research institutions in Central Europe. CUFA offers various programs centered on philosophy and history, including the social sciences and Japanology.

 

Under the new agreement, HU and CUFA commit to exchange two students annually. HU students will have the opportunity to take courses taught in English at CUFA. Notably, CUFA is the first partner university for HU in the Czech Republic.

 

Charles University
