An academic and Student Exchange Agreement Between Hitotsubashi University and Comillas Pontifical University

In January 2026, Hitotsubashi University (HU) and Comillas Pontifical University (Comillas) in Spain signed the Academic and Student Exchange Agreement to promote academic cooperation and student exchange.

Comillas Pontifical University is a private Catholic university established in 1890 and administered by the Spanish Province of the Society of Jesus in Madrid. The university was originally founded in the town of Comillas, Cantabria. The campus was relocated to Madrid in 1969. Following this move, two Madrid-based higher education institutions—the ICAI School of Engineering and the ICADE School of Business and Economics—were incorporated into the university. Today, Comillas is a renowned and influential private university in Madrid. Comillas emphasizes internationality and promotes education and research in diverse environments through study abroad opportunities and joint programs with more than 200 partner universities worldwide.

Through this agreement, Hitotsubashi University and the Comillas Pontifical University each agree to send undergraduate and graduate students to the other universities each year. Students from HU would have the opportunity to take courses taught in English at Comillas.
